Natalie Russell
TEACHING ARTIST
As a member of Nyack’s vibrant Art loving community for almost 16 years, many of the classes Natalie teaches spring directly from the shores of the Hudson River and rocky hikes along the trails surrounding us. Countless hours of her childhood were spent climbing trees, wading in creeks, skating on, or swimming in ponds, and building swings over ravines. Those cherished memories continue to inform the work she does today.
With more than twenty years of experience working with children Pre-K-12, as well as adults, Natalie continues to enjoy both teaching and developing Interdisciplinary Art Curricula for a wide range of settings. The foundation of her educational experience is rooted in Fine Art. Into all of her teaching, she brings a treasure trove of unique workshops and lessons on: Drawing, Painting, Sculpture, Culture, Literature and Poetry. She is continuously building on these projects to expand her creative ability to teach. The intertwining of Science, Nature and Art form the cornerstone of her own Artwork and of her Art Education practice.
