Culinary Kids – Brunch Series (Ages 6–11) *These will not be the same recipes as the winter 2026 session. Saturdays, April 11 - May 9, 2026 · 9:00–10:30 AM · 5 weeks $325.00 Whisk, flip, and feast! Each Saturday, young chefs will cook a brunch to taste (and maybe take a little home!) while exploring dishes through cultural viewpoints, modern vs. classic techniques, and stories of influential chefs. We’ll also spotlight the Hudson Valley’s farms and foodways, connecting ingredients to where and how they’re grown. What kids will learn Kitchen basics: safe knife skills (age-appropriate), measuring & kitchen math, stove/top safety, sanitation Flavor building: sweet vs. savory brunch profiles, herbs & spices, seasonal swaps Food & culture: how traditions shape brunch classics around the world Teamwork & timing: working a station, plating, and sharing the table Tastes may include (examples): Fluffy pancakes three ways (global toppings & syrups) Savory egg bakes or veggie frittatas with local greens Hand-rolled breads or quickbreads with fruit compote Shakshuka-style skillet or breakfast tacos with house salsas Yogurt parfaits with Hudson Valley honey & granola Good to know All materials and ingredients provided. Please send kids in closed-toe shoes with long hair tied back. Allergies/dietary needs: many dishes can be adapted—please note restrictions at registration (facility may handle common allergens). Take-home: Please pack a small reusable container—there are often leftovers to share. We emphasize kitchen etiquette, cleanup, and respect for ingredients, tools, and teammates.
