Joey served as a NYC Professional Liscened Tour Guide with "Scotts Pizza Tours" from 2012-2018 and grew up loving pizza in the Chain Pizza captial of the U.S. Michigan. he also spent evenings answering phones at Lou Malnatis in Chicago for a brief stint before moving to NYC and walking directly to Johns on Bleeker Street to taste his first coal fired pizza! Joey is SUPER excited to offer this pizza tour in his families backyard of Rockland County and highlight some very special slices that tell an amazing story! Our adventure begins in downtown Nyack at 12:00 PM, where guests will board the shuttle for a guided tour to four hand-picked pizzerias across Rockland County. Each stop highlights a different chapter in the story of pizza — from its humble Old-World origins to its rise as a beloved New York staple, and finally to the inventive, artisanal pies of today. Along the way, you’ll hear fascinating side stories about local food culture, meet passionate pizzaiolos, and learn how migration, innovation, and regional taste have shaped this timeless dish. Each guest will enjoy a curated slice at every stop (four total) plus two refreshing sodas.
